A Marzano Academy is a public school that uses proven research to help every student learn deeply and grow at their pace. At Flynn, this means teachers focus on clear learning goals, real understanding, and helping each student reach their highest potential. Marzano Academies are built around the foundations of a Competency- Based Education and High Reliability Schools. 

Flynn focuses on supporting the whole child through both academics and social emotional growth. Our Falcons SOAR program, which stands for Self-Control, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect, teaches positive behavior and community values. We also use a Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) which helps create a safe, consistent, and caring school environment. Flynn’s support team includes a full-time school psychologist and part time therapist through a community partner. Together, these supports help students build strong relationships, manage emotions, and feel safe and connected at school.
 

Flynn is the district’s lab school, meaning it serves as a model for high-quality instruction across Westminster Public Schools. Our teachers are leaders who help shape and refine the best practices used districtwide. This gives Flynn students access to the most effective teaching strategies, personalized learning plans, and innovative classroom tools before they are adopted anywhere else. Families can feel confident knowing their children are learning in a school recognized for academic excellence and continuous improvement.
 

Flynn’s PK–8 model is designed to build a strong sense of community and belonging for every student. Older students have leadership opportunities, such as mentoring and modeling positive behavior for younger Falcons, while younger students benefit from seeing those examples each day.  Tutoring, reading, and "buddy" activities are a regular practice.
